Using Global Data Manager Actions in Integration Workflows

The Integrations module has integration actions available for Global Data Manager to automate external third-party system updates and management changes in the OneTrust application. These actions can also be leveraged completely within the application between OneTrust products as the sample workflow below will address.

To add Global Data Manager actions

  1. On the Integration menu, select Connections.

    The Connections screen appears.

  2. Create a new connection or select an existing connection. The Integration Builder.
  3. Determine where you need the action, then click the Add Action button before, after, or between the appropriate action(s).
  4. In the Add Action block, Go to the OneTrust tab.
  5. Click Global Data Manager.
  6. Choose an action. The following actions are available in the Integration Builder for the module currently:

    Action Name

    Call Type

    Remove Relationship Record by Identifier

    DELETE

Remove the Object Identified by Specified Object Identifier

    DELETE

Get Details for an Object Type

    GET

Get Object using Identifier and Object Type

    GET

    Update Object

    PATCH

Add Attribute to Schema Identify by Name

    POST

Add Relationship Record between Objects for a Given Type

    POST

Create an Object with Values Defined in the Request

    POST

  7. Configure the connection as necessary, then click the Save button.
  8. From here you can provide additional actions for this integration or introduce logic with Apply to Each, Create File, and additional actions. This allows more specific automation rules to fire subtask integrations for any module's activity on the given trigger conditions.

Create Object Record Automation Workflow

In this example, we are automating the creation of an object record within an Object Type that has the same name of a newly created inventory asset in Data Mapping Automation module.

  1. In the Integration Builder screen, configure the trigger to launch the integration when an inventory asset is created in the Data Mapping Automation module.

    Note:

The trigger can be for any module that can be scoped to Global Data Manager, or any external system that has been integrated with OneTrust.

  2. Define the generic condition, then choose one or more conditions that will trigger the connection based on any payload that contains Project. This example will trigger if any inventory asset contains the value, Project.

  3. Click the Done button. The trigger configuration is complete.

  4. Click the Add Action button.

  5. Go to the OneTrust tab.

  6. Choose the POST Create an Object with values defined in the request action.

  7. In the Request tab, define the requirements for query parameters and the headers, which may include the given inventory asset trigger in the prior step.

  8. In the Response tab, define the expected returned result from the call.

  9. Optional: in the Settings tab, define additional settings for this action.

  10. Click the Finish button.

  11. Click the Save button.

  12. Click the Activate button. Any new asset created in the Data Mapping Automation module will also automatically create a corresponding record in Global Data Manager. This record can also be see in the Objects screen of the Data Mapping Automation module.
