Global Data Manager Feature Guide

The OneTrust Global Data Manager module acts as a central repository for defining, customizing, and uniting objects in the OneTrust application. It allows organizations to leverage our platform services by supplementing our baseline functionality with additional flexibility to meet your customized business need(s).

Relationship Types

Creating a custom Relationship Type that defines how the Projects Object is paired is a core functionality of Global Data Manager. A Relationship Type can be used to link multiple Object Type pairs, allowing for a common management of the Relationship Type with flexibility in defining the objects consuming the relationship. By adding an Object Type pair, a relationship becomes available to link the two objects from the Object Type pair as you define Source Object Types to Target Object Types.

Attributes

Projects Object

You can add custom attributes to the Projects Object to act as data points to drive essential processes in your other OneTrust products. Once your Projects Object is scoped and defined with attributes, it can then be surfaced in your given module to provide context for your user(s).

Note:

For more information, see Adding Attributes to the Projects Object.

Relationship Types

You can add attributes to Relationship Types that describe granular characteristics of the specific relationship in the OneTrust application.

Custom Workflows

You can create custom workflows to track the progress of the Projects Object. This allows admins to add custom stages in addition to the default options to build a workflow most suited to your business needs.

Note:

For more information, see Managing Custom Workflows in Global Data Manager.

Managing Object Records

An Object Record is a type of data record created from the Projects Object association. This means that Object Records will be defined and managed in the context of the module(s) in which the Object Type was scoped.

The Inventory Details screen of an Object Record can be used to associate documents, links, and related objects and assessments with the added benefit of management tools like activity history and task assignments.

Managing Relationship Records

You can associate a record of the Projects Object to another record by creating a relationship. Not to be confused with a Relationship Type, a Relationship Record consists of the two related records, their Relationship Type, the respective directionality labels, and attributes. Linking records and establishing relationships between them allows you to build a detailed representation of your data.
