Creating Relationship Records in Bulk

You can import Relationship Records in bulk for Relationship Types configured in the Objects Manger module. The import templates available on the Import Templates in Global Settings allow users to create records in bulk using a spreadsheet that can be uploaded into the OneTrust application.

To create Relationship Records in bulk with templates

  1. Click the gear icon in the upper right-hand corner to access Global Settings.
  2. On the Global Settings menu, select Data Import > Import Templates.

    The Import Templates screen appears.

  3. Locate the Create Custom Link template.


  4. Click the Download button.

    The Download Import Template modal appears.

  5. In the Custom Link field, select your desired Relationship Type.


  6. Click the Download button.
  7. Open the downloaded file in Microsoft Excel.
  8. Complete the downloaded template for the records you want to import.
    Note:

    The bulk import process does not support the following characters when creating multiple inventory records: /, |, and ;. A new row is needed for each record.

    In addition, allow the bulk import to complete before uploading more files. Files larger than 64 MB are not supported.

  9. Navigate to the Data Import > Bulk Import menu.
  10. Click the New Import button.

    The New Import modal appears.

  11. In the Import Name field, enter a name for the import.
  12. In the Import Description field, enter a brief description of the contents of the import.
  13. In the Import Type field, select Create Custom Links.

    The Custom Link field appears.

  14. In the Custom Link field, select your desired Relationship Type.
  15. In the File field, click the Upload File button.
  16. Use the file explorer to select the spreadsheet you want to import.
    Note:

    Verify that the spreadsheet is saved as a .xlsx file.

  17. Click the Submit button. 


  18. To view the status and result of your bulk import, select Data Import > Bulk Import on the Global Settings menu.
    Note:

    If there was an error in the upload, click the link in the Result column for the import to download a report indicating the errors.
