AI Governance Program Efficiency Insights

Overview

AI Governance Program Efficiency Insights adds approval-time measures for Projects, AI Systems, and Agents in Insights dashboards. These measures help governance program owners analyze review duration at both the overall program level and the individual workflow-stage level.

With these insights, teams can:

  • See average approval time across AI governance reviews.

  • Identify stages where approvals take the longest.

  • Compare turnaround time across workflows, stages, approval groups or approver types, and inventory records.

  • Find bottlenecks and use the results to adjust routing, capacity, or prioritization

Approval Performance Use Cases

Identity workflow bottle necks

Compare average approval time across workflows, stages, inventory types, and approval groups or approver types. Use the results to identify stages with consistently high duration or records that are approaching or exceeding the expected review timeline.

Identify records with long approval times

Use dashboard filters, charts, and tables to find records with the longest approval times. Segment the results by workflow, stage, approval group or approver type, and entity to determine where delays are concentrated.

Compare approval performance

Use Approval time in days or Approval time in minutes with workflow, stage, approval status, approval-group or approver details, and entity fields. This helps teams compare turnaround time across different parts of the governance process and identify outliers.

Prioritize process improvements

Use the analysis to decide where to adjust routing, add capacity, escalate a review, or change prioritization. For example, if one approval stage consistently takes longer than others, the governance program owner can focus process improvements on that stage instead of reviewing every record manually.

Measure complete multi-approver stages

For stages that require multiple approvals, use the total stage duration to understand how long the stage remains open. The elapsed time continues until the final required approval is complete, providing a more accurate view of the full stage cycle.

Communicate program health

Use average end-to-end review time, approval-stage duration, and SLA-related indicators to explain how the governance program is performing. These metrics provide a shared view for governance, operations, compliance, and other teams involved in the review process.
