Configuring Attribute Inheritance Settings

Using inheritance settings enables users to decide which attributes are kept standard across all local versions. Enabling Auto-Update allows master records to automatically update attribute information to local versions and replace any existing information for specific attributes. Attributes set to Override will not sync with the master record and can still be changed at the local level.

To configure an inheritance setting

  1. On the IT & Security Risk Management menu, select an inventory.

    The Inventory screen appears.

  2. Click on the name of an inventory record that has been configured as a master record.
  3. Go to the Local Versions tab.
  4. Click the Inheritance Settings button.
  5. Configure the settings.
    Note:

Attributes set to Auto-Update can only be changed or updated at the master record level and will show as read-only at the local level. Attributes that vary across local versions should be left on Override.

  6. Click the Save button.
