Viewing Initiative Records

You can view important initiative details by opening a record on the Initiatives list screen. Clicking the name of an initiative displays a detailed view of the initiative's inventories, controls, evidence tasks, policies, and issues. This article will walk through each tab available on the Initiative Details screen.

Initiative Inventories Tab

The Inventories tab is the first tab displayed when you access the Initiative Details screen. It shows all inventory records associated with the initiative, such as systems, assets, vendors, or processing activities. Inventories can be added during the initiative creation process. For more information, see "To create a new inventory record" in the Managing Compliance Initiatives article.

Initiative Controls Tab

The Controls tab displays all controls associated with the compliance initiative. It includes key metadata such as links to the control and its implementation, assigned owners, categories, and more. This tab provides a centralized view of all relevant controls, helping teams track ownership, ensure proper implementation, and maintain alignment with compliance objectives. For more information, see Adding and Managing Initiative Controls.

Note:

Initiatives will retain the original frameworks that were included at the time of creation. Any subsequent updates to associated controls in the framework will not be reflected within the initiative. When a framework is updated, the change only applies to the primary record in the Control library, not to existing initiatives.

Initiative Evidence Tasks Tab

The Evidence Tasks tab displays the evidence associated with the compliance initiative. This tab allows you to collect evidence for each defined interval and manage the progress of evidence tasks throughout the initiative’s observation period. This ensures timely and organized evidence collection, supports audit readiness, and provides visibility into task progress to maintain compliance throughout the initiative lifecycle.

Evidence tasks can be viewed in two formats: the Collection Calendar, which provides a timeline-based view, and the Evidence Task List, which offers a detailed task-by-task breakdown. For guidance on how to collect and manage evidence, see Collecting and Managing Evidence Task.

Note:

If you add an evidence task after a control implementation has already been created, the newly added evidence task will not be reflected in the existing control implementation. Instead, it will only appear in any net-new control implementations created going forward. This behavior also prevents newly added implementations from being added to initiatives.

Initiative Policies Tab

The Policies tab displays the policies, procedures, and standards associated with the compliance initiative. From this tab, you can navigate directly to the corresponding documents in the Policy Management product to review, edit, or publish them.

You cannot add documents directly from the Policies tab of the initiative. Instead, documents are linked to an initiative by associating them with controls on the Controls tab within the Policy Details screen. Any document linked to a control or control implementation that is part of the initiative will automatically appear on the Policies tab. If a document is later unlinked from its associated control or control implementation, it will no longer be displayed on the initiative. This approach ensures that only relevant, actively governed documents are surfaced within the initiative, maintaining alignment between policy documentation and control implementation. For more information, see Linking Controls to a Document.

Initiative Issues Tab

The Issues tab displays all issues associated with the compliance initiative. It includes key details such as the issue name, description, assigned owners, priority level, stage, and more. This tab allows you to create new issues and establish issue relationships to help streamline remediation efforts and maintain initiative integrity. For more information, see Creating and Managing Initiative Issues.
