Managing Language Options for Privacy Rights
This article outlines the various areas where OneTrust Privacy Rights Automation customers can manage and customize language preferences within the OneTrust application and for customer-facing areas. View the following sections for more information:
Web Forms
Each OneTrust web form template is pre-configured with a set number of Supported Languages. Many of these are built for specific audiences to meet a certain business requirement or privacy regulation need (e.g. PDPA web form in Thai). Currently, OneTrust does not support machine or auto-translation of the templates to meet custom translations. In order to provide specific or ad hoc translations, you will need to provide them when configuring the web form in the following scenarios:
-
Customizing default fields or web form text
-
Adding custom fields to web forms
-
Enabling languages not supported by default on the template
To enable languages on new web forms
-
On the main navigation menu, select Privacy Rights Automation.
-
Select . The Web form templates screen appears.
-
Click the Create web form button. The Request intake screen appears.
-
You can create a new web form using the seeded templates, which are pre-configured with applicable fields and settings based on the jurisdiction. These web forms can be customized from their default settings.
-
Click the Next button.
-
Complete the fields by entering a name, selecting a managing organization, and assigning a workflow to the web form.
For more information, see Available Workflows.
-
Click the Next button. The Web form languages screen appears.
-
Use the checkboxes to select the languages you want to enable for automatic translation on this web form for translation. Additional languages can be added later, but will not be automatically translated.
-
Click the Finish button.
To enable languages on existing web forms
-
Navigate to the Settings tab on the Web form customization screen.
-
Select the Enable language preference setting.
-
Click Edit languages. The Manage languages modal appears.
-
Select or deselect which languages you want to make available on the web form template. You can select one as a primary default.
Note:In the event a translation is not available or provided for a field, the system will default to the default language on the web form.
Example: Thai is the default language on the PDPA web form. If a new language is enabled, it will display Thai translations by default.
-
Click the Save button in the modal, then click the Save button in the settings screen.
