Adding Comments to Requests
You can add comments to communicate with and provide information to other members of your organization about a specific data subject request.
To create a public comment
- On the Privacy Rights Automation menu, click Requests. The Requests screen appears.
- Click on a request. The Data Subject Request Details screen appears.
- Navigate to the Activity > Public tab.
- Use the text editor to write public comments, select and modify response templates, and upload attachments related to the data subject request.
Note:If you delete an attachment on a Public Comment, this change will also be reflected in the Privacy Portal and the Data Subject will no longer have access to the attachment.
- Click the Reply button, or use the dropdown to select Reply as Completed.
Note:
When you select Reply as Extended or Reply as Rejected, the requester-facing comment is taken from the corresponding modal. Attachments added in the Comment text box are not included with the response. To share documents with the requester, submit the response first, then share the attachments separately.
To create an internal comment
- On the Privacy Rights Automation menu, click Requests. The Requests screen appears.
- Click on a request. The Data Subject Request Details screen appears.
- Navigate to the Activity > Internal tab.
- Use the text editor to write internal notes, modify response templates, and upload attachments related to the data subject request.
Note:
These notes are for internal use only and will not appear in the Privacy Portal.
- Click the Post button.
