Managing Default Country Values for Web Forms

You can configure web forms with a default country value to display its given states or regional areas for consumer selection.

Things to Know

  • When hiding fields from a web form, visibility rules may be impacted.

  • When using an external Identity Provider (IdP), the IdP data will override the default country value.

  • For countries that don't have states, the State field will remain blank. Admins can choose to disable the State field, if necessary.

To configure the web form

  1. On the Privacy Rights Automation menu, select Setup > Web Forms. The Web Forms screen appears.

  2. Click on a web form. The Web Form Customization screen appears.

  3. Navigate to the Country field customization settings.
  4. Enable the Hide in Web Form setting. A confirmation modal will appear alerting you of the potential impact to visibility rules.
  5. Enter your given country in the Default Value field.

  6. Click Save and Close.
  7. Click the Save Template button.
  8. Click the Publish button to activate your changes.

Expected Behavior

If a default country value is enabled as a hidden field, the State field will populate the country's given states or regional areas for the consumer to select, as seen with the United States configuration below. The Request Details screen will include the default country value as a data point.
