Bulk Import Object Sharing

Using Data Mapping Automation, you can provision access to multiple objects at once using the Share Objects import template. Viewer or editor access can be granted to individual users or entire organization levels.

To bulk import object sharing

  1. Click the gear icon in the top right corner to access the Global Settings menu.
  2. On the Global Settings menu, select Import templates under Data import.
    The Import templates screen appears.
  3. Locate the Share objects tiles and click the Download button.
  4. In Microsoft Excel, complete the downloaded template fields. For more information, see Object Sharing Template Reference.
    Note: The bulk import process does not support the following characters: /, |, and ;.
  5. On the Import templates screen, click the Bulk import button.
    The New import modal appears.

    Description

    Import name

    Enter the name of the import.

    Import description

    Enter a brief description of the import.

    Import type

    Select the type of template you are importing.

    File
    Click the Select file button and use the file explorer to select the spreadsheet you want to import.
    Note: The file must be saved s an XLSX file (Microsoft Excel).
  6. Click the Submit button.
    Note: To view the status and result of your bulk import, go to the Bulk import screen. If there is an error in the upload, click in the Result column for the import to download a report indicating the error(s).

Object type
The type of object to be shared.

  • Asset

Object ID

ID of the object to be shared.

Share with
Choose to share with an organization, user group, or individual user.

  • Organization

  • User

User email

The email address of the individual user (if applicable).

User group name

The name of the user group (if applicable).

Organization GUID

The GUID of the organization (if applicable).

Object permission
Select the sharing permission.

  • Viewer: Can view the object but cannot edit.

  • Editor: Can view and edit the project.
