Managing Attribute Location Options

Using the Location List in the Inventory Manager, you can deactivate, reactivate, and reorder location options for location-type attributes.

You can also add custom locations to the Location List. These locations will be available for any attribute that leverages the Location List.

To Deactivate a Location Option

  1. On the Data Mapping Automation menu, select Inventory Manager under Setup. The Inventory Manager screen appears.

  2. Click the View button on the Location List tile. The Location List screen appears.

  3. Hover over the row of a location you want to deactivate until the Context Menu icon appears.
  4. Click the Context Menu icon. The Context menu appears.

  5. Select Deactivate Location. A confirmation modal appears.


  6. Click the Confirm button. The location will now be listed as Inactive.
    Note:

    Once deactivated, the location option will not show up as available for selection in any location attributes on a record's Inventory Details screen or for any location attribute questions in assessments.

To Reactivate a Location Option

  1. On the Location List screen, hover over the row of an inactive location until the Context Menu icon appears.
  2. Click the Context Menu icon. The Context menu appears.

  3. Select Reactivate Location. A confirmation modal appears.


  4. Click the Confirm button. The location will now be listed as Active.

To Add a Custom Location

  1. On the Data Mapping Automation menu, select Inventory Manager under Setup. The Inventory Manager screen appears.

  2. Click the View button on the Location List tile. The Location List screen appears.

  3. Click the Add Location button. The Add Location modal appears.

  4. Enter the Name, Latitude, and Longitude and click Save.


    Note:

    • Latitude and Longitude are not required but are used to add the location on the map.

    • Locations cannot have the same name.

    • Locations can have the same latitude and longitude, but it is not recommended as it will cause items to stack on the asset map.

To Reorder Location Options

  1. On the Data Mapping Automation menu, select Inventory Manager under Setup. The Inventory Manager screen appears.

  2. Click the View button on the Location List tile. The Location List screen appears.

  3. Click the Reorder Options button. The Reorder Options screen appears.

  4. Enable the Customize Option Order setting.
  5. Select checkboxes next to location options you want to reorder.
  6. Configure your location options. For more info, see Reorder Location Options Screen Reference.
  7. Click the Save button.
Note:

Changes made to the location option order will affect the order of options for location-type attributes on the Inventory Details screen and for location-type attribute questions on assessments.

To Translate a Location Name

  1. From the Data Mapping Automation menu, select Inventory Manager. The Inventory Manager screen appears.

  2. Click the View button in the Location List icon. The Location List screen appears.

  3. For the location to be translated, select the Context menu. The Update Term modal appears.


  4. Add the proper translation and click Save.
