Bulk Import to Populate Advanced Attributes

In Data Mapping Automation, you can populate your existing advanced attributes in bulk using the Link Personal Data to Inventories template.

Important:

If you leave any columns blank, existing data in the corresponding fields will be overwritten. If you do not want to update the values for any attributes, remove these columns from the template.

Recommendation: Before beginning this process, you should export your Processing Activity or Asset inventory and copy/paste the values from the Personal Data tab into this template.

To populate advanced attributes through bulk import

  1. On the Global Settings menu, select Import Templates from the Data Import section. The Import Templates screen appears.
    Note:

In order for advanced attributes to display, you must have existing advanced attributes. If you have not already created advanced attributes, see Configuring Advanced Attributes.

  2. Click the Download button on the Link Personal Data to Inventories template.
  3. In Microsoft Excel, complete the downloaded template fields. For more information, see Personal Data Import Fields for Advanced Attributes.
  4. On the Import Templates screen, click the New Import button. The New Import modal appears.

  5. Complete the fields. For more info, see New Import Screen Reference.
  6. Click the Submit button.
