Managing Data Subject Groups

Data Subject Groups are used to map relationships between multiple data subjects and link these identities for enhanced identity management. Data Subject Groups establish a parent-child relationship between data subjects, where parent data subjects have the authority to provide consent on behalf of the children data subjects within the same group.

Data Subject Groups can be used to link multiple data subjects associated with one person or multiple data subjects associated with multiple different people. With Data Subject Groups, granular preferences are kept for each individual data subject within the group, but the preferences across all data subjects within the group can be viewed and managed within a single interface. If a parent data subject of the group were to provide consent on behalf of a child data subject, then this would be captured in the child data subject's user activity as "Parent Data Subject" made changes on behalf of "Child Data Subject".

Note:

For more information on using Data Subject Groups for managing parental consent on behalf of a child, see Managing Parental Consent on Behalf of Child Data Subjects.

To view data subject groups

  1. On the Universal Consent & Preference Management menu, select Data Subjects > Groups. The Data Subject Groups screen appears.

  2. Click an option under the Data Subject Groups pane on the left or enter a data subject group name or data subject identifier in the Search field. The Parents and Children data subjects associated with the data subject identifier appear on the right of the screen.
    Note:

If a group is present with the same Parent, the children will be added to the same group instead of creating a new group, as groups can have multiple Parents.
