Using Consent Dashboards

The Universal Consent & Preference Management Dashboards aggregate key data and provide clear visibility into the status of your organization’s consent program. To effectively assess consent performance and user consent states, it is recommended to leverage receipt data and analyze consent statuses such as opt-ins and opt-outs to understand the performance of consent data.

Understanding Universal Consent & Preference Management Key Consent Metrics

Overall, as receipts are the core element capturing consent and representing transactions, receipt count is expected to increase with time and changes in receipt count help understand the change in performance. For example: A higher change in total receipt count could represent an increase in existing users activity but may not necessarily translate to an increase in unique new visitors or new data subject profiles being created. In such a scenario, it is important to analyze the change in trends and examine the behavior closely.

For customers using Universal Consent & Preference Management, the number of data subject profiles may increase or decrease over time. The state of consent of each profile at the time of dashboard creation is taken into consideration. For example, aggregated information might include scenarios where data subject profiles decrease significantly (due to manual purging of records) or a sudden change in the opt-out rate may be concerning and can help indicate early signs of a marketing campaign impact or a change in the customer behavior.

The following dashboards provide insights into data collected through Universal Consent & Preference Management, including the efficacy of purposes and collection points, the volume of receipts and transactions, and the resulting purpose statuses from user interactions. In addition, two dashboards provide key metrics related to your collection points and preference centers.

The following seeded dashboards provide near real-time data about the performance of purposes and collection points using information from receipts. Note:

We recommend customers using OneTrust’s Universal Consent & Preference Management to leverage the Consent Data Subjects Dashboard.

The Consent Data Subjects dashboard provides insights into how your data strategy is performing, making data subjects the core element. The Data Subjects tab displays metrics about the consent state of data subject profiles. In addition, the Receipts tab offers performance data about the latest state of consent of both anonymous users and known users (data subjects).

Note:

Anonymous users are users whose identities are unknown and whose receipts (also referred to as consent transactions) are received through OneTrust’s CMP product. Known users are referred to as data subject profiles and are populated in OneTrust using the UCPM product. For both types of users, receipts are used to capture consent transactions.
