Merging Data Subjects

You can merge multiple existing data subjects which will consolidate existing Purpose statuses captured across the different identifiers into a single data subject profile. This allows you to capture a more comprehensive summary of the consent provided by an individual data subject.

To merge multiple data subjects into a single data subject profile

  1. On the Universal Consent & Preference Management menu, select Data Subjects > Profiles. The Data Subjects screen appears.

  2. Click the link in the Data Subject column for the data subject profile you want to modify. The Profile tab on the Data Subject Details screen appears.

  3. In the Profile Overview section, click the Edit icon. The Edit Identifiers modal appears.

  4. Click the Add icon and enter the existing data subject identifier that should be merged.
    Note:

Multiple identifier values for the same data subject identifier type are supported.

  5. Click the Save button. The Merge Data Subjects modal appears.

  6. Verify that you want to merge the data subject identifiers into a single data subject profile.
    Note:

If you do not want to proceed with the merge, select Go Back and Edit. You will be returned to the Edit Identifiers modal.

  7. Click the Merge button. Once processed, the Data Subject Details screen can be refreshed to view the changes.
    Note:

If logging to preference center via magic link is enabled, data subjects merged into a single profile will use the magic link of the remaining data subject.
