Creating Anchor Links within Privacy Notices

You can create links to anchor down to other sections available within a privacy notice, if needed. Anchor links make it easier for you to navigate through a lengthy privacy notice by allowing you to jump directly to the section you would like to view.
Note:

Anchor links added to the privacy notice default language will need to be duplicated for any notice translations.

To create links to other sections in a privacy notice

  1. On the Privacy Notice Management menu, select Privacy Notices. The Privacy Notices screen appears.
    Note:

    If you own the Policy Management module, the menu will be named Policy.

  2. Select the privacy notice in which you want to create links to other sections. The Privacy Notice Detailsscreen appears.

  3. Navigate to the Integration tab.
  4. In the Draft SDK section, click the Copy button and paste the copied SDK script on your staging web site.


  5. After the privacy notice appears on your staging web site, right-click the section that you want to link to and select Inspect. The Elements tab on the Developer Tools pane appears.


  6. On the Elements tab, copy the section ID for that section. The section ID for the section you selected will be highlighted, as shown in the example below.


  7. In the OneTrust application, navigate to the Privacy notice builder screen.
  8. On the Content tab, select (highlight) the text that you want to convert into a link.
  9. Click the Insert Link icon.
  10. In the URL field, paste the copied section ID. The text you selected will appear in the Text field by default.


    Note:

    All inserted links will open in a new tab.

  11. Click Insert.
  12. Click the Save button. Once saved, you should be able to see the changes on your staging web site. You can repeat this process for each anchor link that you want to create.
