About Default Issue Workflow
You can use the Default Issue Workflow to track issues from the time they are identified to the time they are closed. Below you'll find information on each workflow stage of the default workflow.
Workflow Stages
Not Started
The workflow begins once an issue has been identified.
An issue is an instance when there has not been appropriate action to mitigate risks to an acceptable level. An issue may arise in a process, system, or control. For more information, see the General Issues Management FAQ.
In Progress
In the In Progress stage, the issue owner is identified and must be assigned to the record. The Issue Owner must be identified and assigned prior to entering the Progress stage. The Issue Owner will be the individual responsible for resolving the issue. The owner will receive an email notification once assigned, which includes a link to the assigned issue. During this stage, the issue is actively worked on by the Issue Owner. Tasks are completed and attachments are added to evidence remediation.
Under Review
Before advancing to the Under Review stage of the Default Issues Workflow, the action plan must be added to the issue. The action plan is the remediation plan for the issue. Once the Issue Approver has added the action plan and approved the stage, the workflow can be moved to the final workflow stage.
Once an issue advances to the Under Review stage, an email is generated to the Issue Approver. Once the Issue Approver reviews and accepts the work completed per the action plan, the workflow can be moved to the final workflow stage.
Completed
During the Completed stage, the issue is in a closed state. The Issue Approver must update or confirm the reason for closure and add any other additional details to the Closure Note field as needed. The approver can select an outcome from the Result options listed below.
