DataGuidance Privacy Index

The Privacy Index, created by OneTrust DataGuidance, is a tool designed to help organizations assess the impact of privacy legislation on their global compliance efforts. It evaluates 17 key factors of privacy law(s) in each jurisdiction, such as personal and territorial scope, legal bases, data processing principles, and data protection officer requirements, among others. The Index is not intended to provide legal guidance but aims to provide an overview of key factors that may impact an organization's privacy program.

Each factor is rated as 'Stringent' (2), 'Moderate' (1), or 'Not applicable' (0), with explanations and legal citations provided. The cumulative score determines the privacy legislation's impact on an organization, categorized as 'Low', 'Medium', or 'High' impact.
