Assigning Data Subject Types to Related Data Elements

You can assign data subject types to related data elements created without data subject types.

To assign a data subject type to an existing data element

  1. On the Data Mapping Automation menu, select an Assets, Processing Activities, Entities, or Vendors. The corresponding inventory list screen appears.

  2. Click the name of a record. The Inventory Details screen appears.

  3. Go to the Related tab.
  4. Click the View More button on the Related Data Elements list.
  5. Select the check boxes for data elements to which you are assigning data subject types.


  6. Click the Add Data Subject Type button. The Add Data Subject Type modal appears.


  7. Select a data subject type to assign to the selected data elements.
  8. Click the Save button.

To view the metadata of related data elements

  1. On the Data Mapping Automation menu, select an Assets, Processing Activities, Entities, or Vendors. The corresponding inventory list screen appears.

  2. Click the name of a record. The Inventory Details screen appears.

  3. Go to the Related tab.
  4. Hover over the Related Data Element and open the Context menu.
  5. Click View Discovery Metadata. The Discovery Metadata tab of the Related Data Element Details screen appears.
