Creating Global/Local Inventory Records
The feature allows you to set up inventory records as master records and then create local versions (linked copies) of that master record. This creates a relationship between the master process and the local version to help with organization, maintenance, and easy comparison to identify variation that may exist across all local versions of a central process.
To set up a master record
To create local versions
You cannot delete a master record while local versions are still attached. You can archive master records and change master record statuses. Master record status will not impact the status of the local versions. To archive all versions, you can archive the records individually or change the inventory status in bulk.
For more information, see Adding, Editing, and Deleting Inventory Records.
