Copying Sections and Questions

This article will explain how to successfully copy sections and questions from one template to another. This feature will allow you to copy the user specified sections and questions to only a draft version of the template.

Note:

Users can copy sections and questions from published and archived templates, but can only can add them to a template that has not been yet published.

Creating a New Template and Adding a Template from the Gallery can be referenced to guide users to arrive at the Template Builder within a template on the PIA & DPIA Automation module.

To copy sections and questions within a template

  1. On the Template Builder in the PIA & DPIA Automation module, select the Context menu located on the header.
    Note:

    Hover over the section/question set you wish to copy and select the Copy icon.

  2. Select the Copy Questions option. The Select Questions screen appears.


  3. Select the Section on the left to display the questions within that section.
  4. Select the checkbox beside the question to enable that question to be copied.
  5. Click the Next button. The Choose Location screen appears.
    Note:

    If there are Related Questions within the template, the copy questions' Related Questions screen appears.



    When finished, click the Next button.

  6. Complete the fields, for more info, see Choose Location Screen Reference.
  7. Click the Copy button.
  8. Go to the Templates menu in Assessments Automation.
  9. Locate the destination template.
    Note:

    Best Practices: Use the search bar located under the Choose From Gallery and Create Custom Template buttons or use the Success Confirmation when the copy has been successful.

  10. Click the Edit Draft button on the destination template.
  11. Review the copied section(s)/question(s).

Description
Copy To

The Copy within this Template option allows the user to copy the section(s)/question(s) in the same template.

The Copy to another Template option allows the user to copy the section(s)/question(s) into a different template.

Template Name

Once the user completes the above fields and selects copy, they can navigate to the destination template (If it is a separate template) or remain on the current template if they copied within the same template.

Location

Allows the user to select where in the destination template to place the copied section(s)/question(s).

Beginning of the Template: Place the copied section(s)/question(s) in the beginning of the destination template.

End of the Template: Place the copied section(s)/question(s) at the the end of the destination template.

Before Section: Place the copied section(s)/question(s) before a specific section in the destination template.

After Section: Place the copied section(s)/question(s) after a specific section in the destination template.

Section Name

If the user selects Before Section or After Section, this field allows the user to select which section in the destination template for their copied section(s)/question(s).
