Insights Data Discovery Dashboard

The Data Discovery Insights Dashboard feature is under Public Preview. Please contact OneTrust Support to request early access.

The Data Discovery Dashboard allows you to report on data captured by the Data Discovery module. You can utilize the data available on the Data Discovery Dashboard to view information about job insights, scan metrics, worker node progress, and more related to your discovery business outcomes.

The Data Discovery Dashboard is divided into the following tabs: Discovery Review | Scanner Insights. The following sections provide additional details on each tab.

Note:

To access the Data Discovery Dashboard, navigate to Reports > Dashboards. Then enable the Insights Dashboards setting.

Discovery Review Tab

The Discovery Review tab displays holistic information about the found, classified, and retrieved data across the Data Discovery module. This tab can be used to gain a comprehensive overview of all discovered terms, data sources, and data assets during the indicated time range.



The following metrics are available on the Discovery Review tab:

Select Data Source

An external system integrated for scanning, classifying, and reviewing held data for discovery purposes.

Select a regional jurisdiction to adjust the data that displays in the bar chart below.

Select Scan Job Level

The type of scan job that is supported for the data source:

  • Catalog

  • Catalog & Scan

  • Query

  • File Retrieval

Select a scan job level to adjust the data that displays in the dashboard tiles. The data can also be adjusted by using the filters that appear on the Filter pane.

Select Scan Job Status

Current status of a scan job.

Select a scan job status to adjust the data that displays in the dashboard tiles. The data can also be adjusted by using the filters that appear on the Filter pane.

Volume Scanned/scan (KB)

The current volume of observerable data that has been identified from the chosen data source.

Drag the slider to adjust the volume of data that displays in the dashboard tiles.

Volume Ingested/scan (KB)

The current volume of data that has been scanned into the application.

Drag the slider to adjust the amount of ingested data that displays in the dashboard tiles.

Scan Duration/scan (hrs)

The time taken to scan the data source.

Drag the slider to adjust the scan duration of data that displays in the dashboard tiles.

Select Scan Job Date Range

Date range of when the scan job was ran.

Drag the slider to adjust the time period of the data that displays in the dashboard tiles.

Worker Nodes

Number of worker nodes, both active and inactive, created in the application.

System Type

Number of unique systems in the application.

Scan Jobs

Number of scan jobs currently in progress.

Scans Completed

Number of scan jobs that have completed.

Scans Pending

Number of scan jobs that are in progress and pending completion.

Data Sources

Number of configured data sources present in the application.

Total Scan Time (hrs)

Total duration of the scan in hours.

Volume Scanned

Volume count of data scanned in MB.

Volume Ingested

Volume count of data ingested in MB.

Scan jobs by level

Terms classified across scans by data source

Scans History by data source

A table that highlights all data from the dashboard by default. Select one or more data sources with applied filters to show specific scan history details. The table contains the following columns:

  • Data Source

  • System Type

  • Number of Scans

  • Worker Node

  • Last Scan

  • Volume Scanned (KB)

  • Metadata scanned (count)

  • Volume ingested (KB)

Scanner Insights Tab

The Scanner Insights tab presents a high-level overview of the scanners' progress and history. Select a data source and apply other criteria to inspect scanner details and history logs.
