Integrating with Adobe Experience Platform for Universal Consent & Preference Management
The OneTrust Integration source within the Adobe Experience Platform is in Beta. Its features and documentation are subject to change. For information on using beta-labeled sources, see Adobe Experience Platform's sources overview.
You can establish a connection between OneTrust Integration and the Adobe Experience Platform to ingest both historic and scheduled consent data into the Adobe Experience Platform using the Adobe Experience Platform user interface. To connect OneTrust Integration with the Adobe Experience Platform, each of the following steps must be completed.
Step 1: Create an OAuth 2.0 API Key within the OneTrust Application
In order to establish a connection between OneTrust Integration and the Adobe Experience Platform, you will need an access token configured with the CONSENT and CONSENT_READ scopes. OAuth 2.0 API Keys can be created within Global Settings in the OneTrust application.
The access token does not refresh automatically after it expires because system-to-system refresh tokens are not supported by OneTrust. Therefore, it is necessary to make sure that your access token is updated in the connection before it expires. The maximum configurable lifespan for an access token is one year.
-
In the OneTrust application, click the gear icon
in the upper right-hand corner to access Global Settings.
-
On the Global Settings menu, select . The Credentials screen appears.
-
Navigate to the API Keys tab.
-
Click the Add button. The Enter New API Key Details section on the Create API Key screen appears.
-
In the Name field, enter a name for the OAuth 2.0 API Key.
-
Optional: In the Description field, enter a description for the OAuth 2.0 API Key.
-
Optional: In the API Key Lifetime field, select the amount of time that should pass before the OAuth 2.0 API Key expires. The default API Key lifetime is one hour, but can be set to a maximum of one year.
-
Optional: Turn on the Restrict IP Addresses setting to restrict incoming communication to specific IP addresses. If this setting is enabled, enter an IP address in the Restrict IP Addresses field that appears. You can enter multiple IP addresses by clicking the Add button and entering an additional IP address in the field that appears.
-
Click the Next button. The Select API Scope section appears.
-
Select the following scopes under Consent: CONSENT and CONSENT_READ.
-
Click the Create button. The API Key Created section appears.
-
In the Download API Key field, click the Download button. A .txt file containing the OAuth 2.0 API Key will download to your local system.
Attention:The OAuth 2.0 API Key should be saved to a secure location.
-
Click the Close button.
Step 2: Connect the OneTrust Integration Account within the Adobe Experience Platform
Once you have the OAuth 2.0 API Key, you can proceed with connecting your OneTrust Integration account within the Adobe Experience Platform user interface.
The OneTrust Integration API specifications are shared with Adobe for data ingestion.
-
Navigate to the Adobe Experience Platform, and select from the left navigation to access the Sources screen. The Catalog tab displays a variety of sources with which you can create an account.
-
In the Categories section, select Consent & Preferences. Then click the Add data button for the OneTrust Integration account. The Connect OneTrust Integration account screen appears, where you can select to either use an existing account or create a new account. To use an existing account, proceed to step 3. To create a new account, skip to step 4.
-
(Existing account only) In the Account type field, select Existing account. Then select the OneTrust Integration account with which you want to create a new dataflow. Click Next to proceed.
-
(New account only) In the Account type field, select New account and complete the required fields. Once complete, click Connect to source and wait for the new connection to establish. Click Next to proceed.
