Configuring Visibility Rules for a Multi Page Preference Center
You can configure visibility rules to specify which purposes appear for a data subject based on the selections they make for other purposes within your Preference Center. Visibility rules can be configured using the Visibility Rules view on the Builder tab on the Preference Center Details screen.
To configure visibility rules using the Rules Builder
Once you add a page to your Preference Center using the Preference Center Builder view , the option to switch to the Visibility Rules view
will appear on the Builder tab. However, you must first add purposes to your Preference Center in order to configure visibility rules.
Available Purpose Responses
The following responses are available when creating visibility rules using the Purpose condition type. The following table details how the condition is met to trigger the respective action.
|
Response |
Description |
|---|---|
|
Active |
This condition can be met in either of the following ways:
Active indicates that the data subject has given consent to process their data for a purpose by opting in. |
|
Withdrawn |
This condition can be met in either of the following ways:
Withdrawn indicates that the data subject has withdrawn consent that they had previously given to prevent further processing of their data for the purpose. |
|
Not Given |
This condition is met if the existing status of the purpose is Not Given when the preference center loads. Not Given indicates that a data subject had an opportunity to opt in to a purpose but did not take it. |
|
Always active |
This condition is met if the existing status of the purpose is Always Active when the preference center loads. Always Active indicates that the data subject does not have an option to give consent, withdraw consent, or opt out of the Purpose because processing data for the Purpose is necessary and will always be carried out. |
|
Not Opted Out |
This condition is met if the existing status of the purpose is Not Opted Out when the preference center loads. Not Opted Out indicates that the data subject was given an opportunity to opt-out but did not take it and is therefore opted into the purpose by default. |
|
Toggled On |
This condition is met only if the data subject clicks the toggle within the preference center to opt-in to the purpose. |
|
Toggled Off |
This condition is met only if the data subject clicks the toggle within the preference center to opt-out of the purpose. |
|
No Interaction |
This condition is met if there is no existing status of the purpose when the preference center loads. No Interaction indicates that the data subject has not interacted at all with the purpose and the purpose has no status associated with it. |
