Mapping Field Attributes for an Existing Web Form

You can map field attributes for an existing web form to the Purposes, Purpose Preferences, and data elements defined on a Collection Point directly on the Integrations tab on the Collection Point Details screen. For the SDK to correctly record the data subjects consent and data, you must map the form input elements to the Purposes, Purpose Preference options, and data elements defined for the Collection Point. This SDK Mapping feature allows you to more easily integrate your existing web forms using the Hosted SDK, which then makes it easier to update the settings for your Collection Point without having to replace the SDK integrated on your site.

To map web form fields

Note:

In order to map web form fields, the Use Hosted SDK Settings setting must be enabled on the Settings tab.

  1. On the Universal Consent & Preference Management menu, select Interfaces > Collection Points. The Collection Points screen appears.

  2. Click the link in the Name column for a Web Form Collection Point for which you want to map web form fields. The Collection Point Details screen appears.

  3. Navigate to the Integrations tab.
  4. Scroll down to the Form Fields Mapping section and click the Edit button. The Element Attribute, Attribute Value, and Capture / Value fields become available.
  5. Modify the Element Attribute, Attribute Value, and Capture / Value fields as needed to map your existing web form attributes and values to the proper data elements, Purposes, and Purpose Preferences. For more information, see Form Fields Mapping Reference.
  6. Click the Save button within the Form Fields Mapping section.
    Note:

Currently, only field mappings are stored in the encoded settings.

Form Fields Mapping Reference

The Form Fields Mapping section allows you to define the mapping of form input elements for an existing web form directly within the application for easier integration with the Hosted SDK. In this section, you can enter the attributes and values found in the HTML of your existing web form within the corresponding Element Attribute and Attribute Value fields. Once you've identified the form attribute to the SDK, the SDK will take the value of that HTML field and submit it as part of the consent receipt. You will then need to complete the mapping for each of the web form fields for which you want to capture the data.
