Allowing Multiple Data Subject Identifiers on Collection Points

You can configure Custom API and OneTrust Web Form Collection Points to allow multiple identifiers to be accepted. By configuring the Collection Point to accept multiple data subject identifiers, you can:

  • Allow data subjects that interact with your Collection Point to provide more than one option for identification and enable data subjects to log in to a Preference Center using either an email or phone number to manage a single set of preferences.

  • Manage duplicate data subjects records.

  • Consolidate data subject records with additional identifiers regardless of the order in which the data subject identifiers were created.

  • Merge transaction records to maintain a single source of truth when reviewing a data subject's transactions and profile history.

Note:

This feature can be used as an alternative to the Linked Identity APIs.

  1. On the Universal Consent&Preference Management menu, select Interfaces > Collection Points.

    The Collection Points screen appears.

  2. Click the link in the Name column for the API type Collection Point that you want to edit.
    Note:

If you'd like to create a new Custom API Collection Point, see Creating Custom API Collection Points.

The Collection Point Details screen appears.

  3. In the Configuration section of the Details screen, enable the Allow Multiple Identifiers setting. Multiple identifiers can then be selected in the Data Subject Identifier field.

Optionally, after creating a data subject with multiple identifiers, the identifierType field can be used to submit consent against a data subject by specifying a non-primary identifier.

    Note:
