Universal Consent Purposes for Mobile App Consent

You can enable Mobile App templates to display Universal Consent Purposes so your app can show a set of non Universal Consent & Preference Management Platform preferences to end user(s). This allows admins to explain the types of data and/or personal information that your organization intends to collect during their Mobile SDK experience.

Additionally, as of OneTrust release 6.24.0, customers can leverage Universal Consent Purposes with cross device consent enabled, which allows app owners to collect a user's consent for Universal Consent Purposes on an initial app and then those preferences are saved when a user logs into a secondary app on a different device. As long as Purposes are added at the template level, now that cross device consent is enabled, the sync of common preferences will be cross-synced automatically on the application's data subject profiles without interference of the secondary app's exclusive preferences.

For more information on cross device consent, see Cross Domain and Cross Device Consent.

Updating Purposes

The Mobile App Consent module adopts the latest version of the Purpose. If the SDK version is newer than the Purpose publish version, then the Purpose will expire and become non-functioning. Ensure that as you update and publish new SDK versions that you are also publishing Purposes to a newer version in the Consent module to maintain your mobile Preference Center options.
