OneTrust Accessibility Conformance
OneTrust is committed to a user experience that is accessible for people with disabilities. As an industry leader with progressive approaches to privacy, security, and governance management, we are continually monitoring the accessibility of our consumer-facing tools for an enhanced user experience.
OneTrust utilizes the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) standard for accessibility and compatibility with assistive technologies. WCAG defines how accessible web-based content should be for people with disabilities, which includes accommodations for blindness, impaired vision, deafness, limited mobility, speech, and a number of other motor or cognitive limitations. These standards were developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) in response to the need for online accessibility standards comparable to the requirements in the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
If you have questions, feedback, or requirements regarding OneTrust's accessibility, please contact OneTrust Support using the Create a Case web form.
For more information about WCAG success criteria, see How to Meet WCAG (Quick Reference).
OneTrust Official Statement of WCAG compliance and WCAG Supported Public-Facing Software Services
The portions of the OneTrust software and software-as-a-service that support or constitute Web content for purposes of the Worldwide Web Consortium’s (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) comply (or are configurable by OneTrust customers to comply) with WCAG, version 2.2 levels AA & A, as applicable, (WCAG 2.2 AA and A) to the extent and as described in the Voluntary Product Assessment Template Reports on the myOneTrust knowledge base (“VPATs”). If you require further assistance regarding WCAG compliance outside of the nine specified product areas, please submit an enhancement idea to the OneTrust Ideas Portal.
Criteria Levels & Tested Areas
Each success criterion in WCAG 2.2 is rated at a level of conformance: A (highest priority), AA, and AAA (lowest priority). The consumer-facing tools provided by OneTrust (e.g., banners, preference centers, and web forms) are tested often in order to seek improved WCAG compliance. Review the VPAT reports below to learn more about each module's tested areas.
The OneTrust application admin console, however, has not been evaluated for WCAG compliance.
Voluntary Product Accessibility Templates (VPAT®)
OneTrust leverages the Information Technology Industry Council's (ITI) VPAT reporting format to openly communicate which accessibility criteria and assistive technologies are supported for people with disabilities in the OneTrust application. These documents are routinely updated when there are changes in our compliance and new remarks are added to elaborate on our conformance levels.
Beginning June 2025, OneTrust's VPATs now leverage the international (INT) edition. These VPATs include accessibility conformance reporting based on the following frameworks:
-
Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2
-
Revised Section 508 standards published January 18, 2017 and corrected January 22, 2018
-
EN 301 549 Accessibility requirements for ICT products and services - V3.1.1 (2019-11)
-
EN 301 549 Accessibility requirements for ICT products and services - V3.2.1 (2021-03)
Accessibility conformance reports are available for the following OneTrust modules in the Documents tab on myOneTrust.

WCAG Principles
According to WCAG's accessibility criteria, web-content should adhere to following four main principles and their applicable acceptance criteria:
1. Perceivable
“Information and user interface components must be presentable to users in ways they can perceive.”
|
Criteria |
WCAG Quote |
OneTrust Conformance |
|---|---|---|
|
Text Alternatives |
“Provide text alternatives for any non-text content so that it can be changed into other forms people need, such as large print, braille, speech, symbols or simpler language.” |
In OneTrust consumer tools, interface control elements such as buttons and links leverage aria-label attributes, while built-in HTML functionality allows devices such as screen readers to provide text alternatives for site visitors who are visually impaired. |
|
Adaptable |
“Create content that can be presented in different ways (for example simpler layout) without losing information or structure.” |
Content in OneTrust consumer tools adapts in multiple ways including: responsiveness to various screen sizes and mobile user interfaces, and dynamic layout changes to support languages that read from right to left (such as Arabic and Hebrew). These interfaces maintain their sequencing and orientation while achieving compliance through flexibility. |
|
Distinguishable |
“Make it easier for users to see and hear content including separating foreground from background.” |
OneTrust consumer tools are coded as overlays with distinct z-indexes to allow for easy identification against background content on websites and applications. |
2. Operable
“User interface components and navigation must be operable.”
|

|
Keyboard Accessible |
“Make all functionality available from a keyboard.” |
OneTrust consumer tools leverage tab indexing to supplement the sequencing handled through HTML. This is in coordination with controlling the cursor to ensure the keyboard does not lose control to meet this requirement. |
|
Enough Time |
“Provide users enough time to read and use content.” |
OneTrust's consumer tools do not contain any animation or timeouts which would affect the amount of time an end user has to read content. |
|
Navigable |
“Provide ways to help users navigate, find content, and determine where they are.” |
OneTrust tools leverage tab indexing to supplement the sequencing handled through HTML. This is in coordination with controlling the cursor to ensure the keyboard does not lose control to meet this requirement. |
3. Understandable
“Information and the operation of user interface must be understandable.”

Readable |
“Make text content readable and understandable.” |
The text used in OneTrust's public facing interfaces are customizable in every supported language to allow customers to tailor messaging to meet their users' understandings. |
4. Robust
“Content must be robust enough that it can be interpreted reliably by a wide variety of user agents, including assistive technologies.”
